Acacia Avenue and Stamford Park Road: Can you cross during the school run?

Trafford Lib Dems have been talking to residents about the dangers children and parents face trying to cross the corner of Acacia Avenue and Stamford Park Road on the school run.

Cars parked on both sides – on a corner – make it impossible to see on-coming traffic without stepping into the road.

Local residents with children at both Stamford Park Infants and Juniors are finding it increasingly difficult in the mornings to cross the corner of Acacia Avenue and Stamford Park Road due to the number of parked cars.

No doubt this affects everyone trying to cross that road in the morning, not just those with school-aged children.

Hale Lib Dem campaigner Will Frass said:

"I think we need a single yellow line on the corner of Acacia Avenue and Stamford Park Road with a sign to restrict parking between 8 – 9 am and 3 – 4 pm on weekdays."

"This is a good balance between safety on one hand and avoiding too many restrictions on the other, as the issue only arises twice each weekday."

Do you have another idea?

There may be another way to make this corner less of a hazard at key times during the day.
