Storm Christoph and potential flooding UPDATE (dedicated Response Line : 03330 035865)
Trafford Council and Amey are putting a number of preparatory measures in place after further flood alerts and the declaration of a major incident by Greater Manchester Police. This work includes clearing critical infrastructure such as culvert screens and gullies, especially in high risk areas.
We are also providing support to those areas most at risk, particularly Sale Ees and the Bollington Mill area, and are in contact with residents and businesses to offer advice and support. Furthermore, we have also opted to temporarily close the visitor car park at Sale Water Park from tonight (Tuesday January 19) as this is identified as an area at risk from flooding and it is likely we will be opening flood gates tonight or tomorrow.
Be assured we will do everything possible to help anyone whose home or business is badly affected by the anticipated flooding between now and Thursday, January 21. We have a dedicated number for people to call who need our help – 03330 035865 – and Amey have promised to prioritise calls in order of importance.
