
Lib Dems get Timperley Brook Cleared & Inspected after New Year's Flooding
Cllr. Julian Newgrosh tells how the Lib Dems stepped up where the council has failed the residents of Timperley.
Timperley Central has Timperley Village at it's heart, with plenty of residential areas and green spaces too. It is in the south of Trafford with approximately 11,400 Residents across 4,500 houses. There are 5 schools in the ward; Broomwood Primary School, Pictor Academy, Willows Primary School, Forrest School & Wellington School.
The North of the ward is defined by Manchester-Chester Railway Line & Brook Lane, the West by Timperley Brook, the South by Schaftesbury Avenue & Ridgeway Road and the East by the boundary with Manchester Council.
The ward is 1 of 9 which make up the Altrincham & Sale West Constituency. It is currently represented by 3 Lib Dem Councilors; Simon Lepori (Elected 2024), Julian Newgrowsh (Elected 2023) & Shaun Ennis (Elected 2023)
Simon was first elected to Trafford Council in 2023, where he won his seat in Timperley Central during the 2023 local elections. Simon first stood for the Lib Dems in 2016 in Gorse Hill in the north of Trafford, and has stood as parliamentary candidate for Wythenshawe & Sale East (2019 & 2024) and also as Greater Manchester mayoral candidate in 2021.
Simon is currently a member of the Health & Wellbeing Board, as well as the Health Scrutiny, Accounts & Audit, Employment, and Licensing Committees

Julian was first elected to Timperley Central Ward when it was Village Ward in 2019, and has maintained his seat since. Julian first stood for the Lib Dems in 2010 in what was then Hale Central.
Julian is currently serving as a member of the Licensing sub committee on Trafford Council.

Shaun first won election to Trafford Council in 2022 when he won a Village Ward seat, the predecessor to the current Timperley Central Ward. Before this, Shaun first stood for the Lib Dems in 2016 in Stretford in the north of Trafford.
Shaun is currently serving as our Group Leader on Trafford Council. Shaun is a member of Children & Young People's Scrutiny Committee on the council.
